Wm. E. McMullen II

A seventh-generation Floridian exploring the records and stories that shaped the state

Wm. E. McMullen II is a seventh-generation Floridian whose family is documented in territorial Florida by 1830. His work focuses on Florida pioneer families, cattle culture, transportation, frontier forts, communities, and the connections between local family history and the larger story of the state.

Through Florida Learning Hub, he develops history articles, daily historical features, books, student journals, teacher resources, and classroom materials intended to make Florida history approachable while keeping the documentary record visible.

Research Approach

McMullen’s work draws on primary records, government and archival collections, historic newspapers, scholarly and local-history publications, maps, historic-site resources, and carefully evaluated family records. Where evidence is incomplete or conflicting, FLH aims to identify that uncertainty rather than present an assumption as a settled fact.

Florida Learning Hub

He writes and develops materials for Florida Learning Hub under its mission of preserving Florida’s history, culture, agriculture, wildlife, and pioneer heritage.
