About Florida Learning Hub

Preserving Florida’s Story

History, education, and Florida heritage made accessible

Florida Learning Hub preserves and shares Florida’s history, culture, agriculture, wildlife, and pioneer heritage through free articles, educational resources, maps, artwork, books, and classroom materials.

What FLH Does

Florida Learning Hub connects documented history with clear storytelling. Its growing library introduces readers to the people, places, roads, forts, landscapes, cattle culture, communities, and events that shaped Florida.

Educational materials are designed primarily for middle-school learners and the teachers, homeschool families, and independent readers who support them. Teachers may adapt the material for other grade levels and learning needs.

Why the Work Matters

Much of Florida’s history survives in archives, government records, newspapers, maps, family papers, historic sites, and specialized publications. FLH works to bring those records together, explain their context, and make them easier to explore without separating the story from its evidence.

Our Commitments

  • Use identifiable sources and make source lists easy to find.
  • Distinguish documented fact from interpretation, tradition, and uncertainty.
  • Correct material when stronger evidence becomes available.
  • Respect copyright, attribution, and responsible image use.
  • Keep educational explanations clear without oversimplifying the historical record.
