Image & Copyright Policy
Attribution, usage status, and respect for original work
Florida Learning Hub uses images to help readers understand people, places, objects, documents, landscapes, and events. An image’s presence online does not by itself make that image free to reuse.
Images Used by FLH
FLH favors public-domain material, government works that are not restricted by copyright, appropriately licensed material, and original Florida Learning Hub artwork. Captions should identify the source and known usage status whenever that information is available.
Historic Images and Archives
Archives, libraries, museums, and historic sites may control access, reproductions, fees, trademarks, or contractual uses even when an underlying historical work is in the public domain. FLH follows the stated terms of the holding institution and links to original collections when practical.
Original FLH Material
Original text, illustrations, designs, compilations, and educational materials may be protected by copyright unless a page states otherwise. Brief quotation and classroom use may be permitted by law, but copying an entire article, book, worksheet, illustration, or collection is not automatically authorized.
Credits and Questions
Image credits normally appear in the caption or immediately near the image. If a credit is incomplete, a rights holder is identified, or stronger provenance becomes available, FLH will review the information under its Corrections Policy.
This policy is informational and does not provide legal advice or expand any rights granted by law or by a rights holder.
Policy adopted: September 2026.
